Awesome drive or bike ride. I rode the pass on my bike on an incredibly beautiful fall morning. The road itself is in very good shape, which usually can't be said about high altitude Colorado passes. The shoulder on the climb up from BV is also pretty wide which is nice. The views aren't quite as spectacular as some other passes but they are still fantastic, especially above treeline. I definitely recommend going when the aspens are nice and yellow. It's a good shortcut to get to crested Butte as well when the road is open during the warmer months.
Beautiful drive, breathtaking views. Of course, being the tourist, slow driving so not to miss the sights. Locals just zoom around you, just take your time and enjoy, not all of us get to see these spectacular sights every day!
This is an amazing drive, the fall aspens are phenomenal!
Incredibly scenic drive with amazing views. Would be great in a sports car or motorcycle. Best on a weekday.

Gorgeous area with amazing views on both sides of the Continental Divide! The pass is very easy to navigate and enjoy. In fact, this may be the nicest, smoothest mountain pass road I've driven in all of Colorado! There is also summit …
Beautiful pass especially now since the aspen are changing. Some great hiking trails along the way such as the short trail to lost lake. Also spectacular views from the top.
My second favorite place in the whole world. The pass usually closes in the winter but it's so pretty and peaceful. There are many trails to hike and views to see. The prettiest I've seen it is in October, early in the morning, when there is some snow and the clouds are below you.
My new favorite to hike. From the parking lot you can hike for hours. The first part of the hike is moderate, but once you get to the first peak, mayne 30 minutes, you can go along the ridge for quite some time relatively easily. The …
